Going into the stretch run…

Below is another analysis of the playoff picture. For those who might not have known, the schedule was changed and the top 4 teams now have to play each other. (Bad for them especially if they played easy teams) I believe that Mountaineer Home Medical has the toughest road ahead and might fall below us. Comments are welcome General Manager Tom.

MW gives Mylan New Prescription

March-Westin pulled out an upset win over Mylan A Tuesday night defeating Mylan by a score of 13-12.

The victory was highlighted by strong defense by MW which included a spectacular diving catch courtesy of the Lieutenant.  Mylan admittedly was slightly disadvantaged due to only being able to field 9 players; however they quickly made an adjustment to have four outfielders, sacrificing the 2nd base position.  This coaching decision seemed to essentially neutralize the effects of their shortened roster.

But Mylan was unable to hold off MW in the final innings.  With MW down by 1 run the heart of MWs batting order delivered some clutch hitting and made scoring the tying and game winning runs look easy.

March-Westin will return to action next week as they face Commercial Builders in the first of two makeup games scheduled.

It’s not the size of the stick, it’s all about hittin’ the sweet spot: Nick-6, Wimer-2, Randy-1, Lt. Dan-1

MW Sedates Mylan Express, Gets Sold by ERA.

March-Westin played its first double header of the fall season Tuesday night as they faced Mylan Express and long awaited opponent ERA Real Estate.

MWs cruised during their first game of the night, helped out by a few key errors, to a 10 run victory. Leading the charge was MW’s powerful offense with Lt. Dan sending a blast into the night sky, as well as Nick who recorded 3 home runs (one of which was an in the park HR).

Tom continues to set record highs on the slump-o-meter as he joined the few Westiners who have struck out this year*.

For MWs second game of the night they faced ERA Real Estate in one of this seasons most anticipated matchups.

After 3 innings of strong defense by both teams the score was 4-3 and anyone’s game. But the bottom of the 4th inning proved to be problematic for MW as ERA managed to punch several hits through the infield and quickly accumulated substantial lead.

One of the games few highlights for MW was Scotts running snag at the fence, robbing Tony of what would most likely be an extra base hit.

However, MW was unable to answer ERAs rally in the following innings, losing by a final score of 13-3.

*Some reports suggest Tom actually fouled off his 3rd strike and that it was incorrectly recorded.

MW Shocks Gerrick Electric

March-Westin welcomed James back to the mound Thursday night as they defeated Gerrick Electric by a final score of 13-7.

MW used a strong third inning rally to take a 10-3 lead which they maintained for the remainder of the game.

Nick added to his home run total with a 2 run shot in the bottom of the first inning.  Wimer racked up a pair of triples, and Mark shows signs that he is recovering from his slump in the leadoff position.

MW has a double header Tuesday night as they take on Mylan Express at 8:00pm and ERA Real Estate at 9:00pm.

Here it comes…there it goes: Nick-4, Wimer-2, Randy-1
