MW Takes WKKW Off-Air
March-Westin dealt WKKW their second loss of the season Wednesday night, defeating them by a score of 5-4.
MW’s offensive highlights were lead by Ben and Tyler who both recorded triples in a game that was rather quiet on the offensive side of things. Westin rallied in the bottom of the 5th inning, scoring 4 runs to take the 5-4 lead that they would maintain for the remainder of the game.
But the real news of the night was not the players but the equipment. In BOPARC’s continued attempts to migrate to an all-Nerf league the traditional softball has been replaced with a marshmallow-based substitute. The effects were immediately noticeable as neither team was able to go yard and the noticeably lower final scores.

It was a day of “firsts” for March Westin when they took on Upper Cutz Wednesday evening. March Westin sealed up their first win of the season by a score of 16-4, dishing out a beating that the March Westin followers have come to know and love from their team.
Led by the pitching of Ben (aka Benji) March Westin put up the offensive numbers of old and had the relentless defense to lead them into the win column.
Congratulations goes out to Coach Tom for collecting his first hit and RBI of the season, it only took 3 games but you’ve finally got your name in the paper.
Congratulations also go out to Randy who tripled with bases loaded to help secure the win for March Westin.

In what seemed improbable, if not impossible, March Westin suffered their 3rd straight loss to Strykers by a score of 9-7.
March Westin lead going into the top of the 7th by a score of 7-6 only to give up three runs, creating a deficit that they could not overcome.
March Westin’s offense has continued its struggle to consistently produce, averaging only 6 runs in its three losses. Nick was the lone beacon of light as he was perfect at the plate hitting 3 homeruns.
But in even bigger and more shocking news, the “Special K Club” claimed its first two members of the year. Derek Smith and Tony Reed each struck out, becoming the first victims of the season. Perhaps the two newest members of the team are just nervous about being in the presence of such greatness.
“We bring these guys in (Derek and Tony) and expect them to hit the ball! Heck, even the girls from coed don’t strike out” stated Coach Tom.
March Westin will take on Upper Cutz on Wednesday, May 16 at 7.

March Westin suffered their second defeat of the season May 9th to Shane Transport by a painfully close score of 8-7.
In a clear indication of the MAN trying to bring MW down, Boparc informed the teams that the bases had been moved back 10 feet. A direct attempt to take away from MW’s mind-blowing speed.
In other pre-game news, March Westin has added two new athletes to their roster to help in the competitive AAA league, Ben Jr. and Ben Bradley.
Leading March Westin at the plate were members of the “Legion” (see March-WestOn). The Legion was a combined 11-11 at the plate. But this stellar performance by MW’s elite was not enough to secure a ‘W’.
Nick started the “Chasing Bonds” race for the season with the first homerun of the season.
March Westin will play Strykers on Thursday night at 8.

Not even Johnnie Cochran could save March-Westin Wednesday night as they faced OJ White in their season opener. MW just could not get the bats rolling in their AAA debut as they lost by a final score of 19-4.
March-Westin returns the majority of their starting lineup from last year’s team who finished 2nd place overall during the regular season (BOPARC League AA). MW has also added a couple new faces to the lineup, 3rd baseman Derek Smith and Left Fielder Tony Reed.
MW is expected to be competitive in this new league however they will need to shake off this early rust and start producing offensively if they want to keep up in the high scoring AAA division.
March-Westin is scheduled to play again Wednesday night as they take on Shane Transport.
The scorebook from Wednesday’s game can be viewed here (coming soon).
