March-Westin Grinds Mill Place

MW wasted no time rebounding from their loss to BOAZ last week. Lead by the ever reliable pitching from James MW was able to hold Mill Place to 11 runs as they rattled off 21 runs to end the game in the 5th inning.

Jackson showcased that he has truly added the long ball to his arsenal this season, however that skill has been proven to be bitter sweet as he hit his 2nd homerun of the night and nonchalantly strolled to first base carrying the bat with him. He was promptly called out and the due to this base running error. It is not widely known, but a batter may not carry the bat to first base with them. Because as we all know, if you are allowed to carry the bat with you when you walk to first, then you are letting the terrorists win.

MW continued to slowly pull away from Mill Place throughout the game until in the bottom of the 5th inning with the winning run on third Mills Place chose to walk the bases loaded in hopes of getting a force out and bringing Scott to the plate, who had been red-hot all evening. He would not disappoint as he roped a single into center field, easily scoring the winning run.

*At the time of printing the batting statistics for the Dave v Tom competition had not yet been compiled. This post will be updated with these numbers as soon as they are available.

He busts out the whuppin’ stick!: Jackson-3, Nick-3, Wimer-1
